WHAT I WORE: DEVIL COLOURS AND HAIR RIGHT NOW

Excuse the face but this is where my hair is at right now after having a terrible hair cut last summer and having extensions through the winter. Not short anymore but not long yet either. After being super blonde for years I've finally managed to get the colour so close to natural that I can easily leave it untouched for a few months at a time. I'd like to think that I'm on my way to long, healthy, natural hair! I will never drastically change the colour again and I will never cut it again (I guess I'm going to need a trim or two but you know what I mean). Finally learned my lesson at a humble age of 36! So if any of you out there have long, healthy, beautiful hair and are considering cutting it short... or bleaching it... DON'T! :-) And btw if you're in London and looking for an amazing colourist I can't recommend Wagner at Gina Conway on Westbourne Grove enough.

Enough about hair, this is what I wore to dinner the other night. Comfy in a cardi as I knew we'd be sitting outside and the evenings are still a bit chilly. My leather leggings are in constant use, not sure what I ever wore before I had them!

Cardi: Splendid
Leather Leggings: Joseph
Sandals: Azzedine Alaia

SISTER ACT

Apologies for a very long silence from my part! My internet went down last weekend and it took me this long to get it going again... It was a bit of a challenge but in the end I manage to install a new Wifi box following instructions in French. And I don't speak French.

So let's get back to last week. My sisters who were staying with me are now unfortunately long gone... They have both now flown back to their home countries. UK and Finland that would be. It was lovely to have them stay! We took a lot of pictures (obviously, as I was around) and these are some of them, taken just before heading out to dinner.

This is not my sister head banging. This is her laughing at us trying to look natural.

Love the rather rock'n roll necklace against lace.

This is my youngest sister btw. She is pregnant and also a mother of a 15-month old! I still think of her as a baby herself. So much so that I often accidentally call her by my own daughter's names!!

I was wearing a top that my other sister who was behind the camera made for me years ago. Love the colour!

After this we headed to my favourite Antibes restaurant for a delicious dinner and guess who walked in as we were tucking into our food? Someone who used to wear a red swim suit and run really slowly on a beautiful beach ;-)

WHAT I WORE: SILK AND LEATHER MINUS EYES

Sometimes photographs just really don't go according the plan. This one could only be somewhat saved by cropping my eyes and top of my head off. Sorry, I know it looks slightly strange. This was an outfit for dinner the other evening. Enjoying wearing trousers and long sleeves for as long as I can until it will be too hot for them!

Top: Rag  & Bone (this one)
Leather Leggings: Joseph (here)
Pumps: Jimmy Choo (old)
Necklace: Zara (old)
Cuff: Hermes
Clutch: YSL (old)

WHAT I WORE: WITH PSYCHEDELIC JEANS

I know it's spring time but I can't help but be very in love with black. The older I get the more I love it. I've also come to the conclusion that you can never have too many black accessories. It feels very tempting to go for the latest, interesting colours but if you opt for black instead you end up with something that you get so much more wear out of. This is something I wore a couple of weeks back. I got these IRO jeans in New York. They're nice and low on the waist and very comfortable to wear. Btw doesn't London look lovely with all that green? Can't wait for the weather to warm up again!

Blazer: Rag & Bone
T-Shirt: American Vintage
Clutch: YSL
Cuff: Chanel

WHAT I WORE: BLACK AND WHITE

Let's get the blog back to London after the Alps... I've been back for a few days now and managed to unpack the huge pile of luggage that we took with us and most of the washing is done, too. I'm packing again though. We're moving and this time not just houses but countries. And continents! I'll tell you all about it tomorrow ;-)

Here however an outfit post from before our ski holiday. Black and white is still very much in and my wedding bag just happens to be the perfect accessory for that look!

WHAT I WORE: WITH WHITE BLAZER

Happy Valentine's people! I'm in a midst of all sorts of preparations for my "big" day tomorrow and therefore too busy to get any fresh pictures uploaded on my laptop. Here's however an outfit I wore to dinner a couple of weeks ago. I picked this blazer up from Net-A-Porter sales after Christmas and absolutely love it. Spices up a relaxed jeans and t-shirt look nicely. Now I'm off to bed. Wish me luck for tomorrow!

Blazer: Vanessa Bruno (sold out but LOVE this and this white blazer)
T-Shirt: Splendid
Jeans: Citizens of Humanity
Bag: Saint Laurent, Betty (here in different colour and material)

WHAT I WORE: LEATHER AND BLAZER ONCE AGAIN

Another unpublished outfit post from last year, this time already in our current home though, in our mini garden. Which, by the way has so far only been used once for cigar smoking (not me!!) plus a couple of other times for watering plants (not me either but Little M who reckons they need watering despite all the rain).

By the way I have a little hair announcement to make; my hair extensions are coming off today, scary! I will feel bald! However I'm desperate to get rid of them as they now feel like one big mess hanging off the back of my head. I'm not going to re-do them straight away. Maybe I won't re-do them at all. I'm going to give it a few weeks before deciding. What ever happens I'll only keep them until the summer. I promised that to the other half who doesn't hate many things as much as hair extensions. It's not like I'm a fan of the idea of them in general either but I must say if you're unhappy with the length or thickness of your hair go for it.

So this outfit... I wore it to a dinner but one could easily wear it to a smart lunch or even to work. I think leather trousers or leggings are these days a definite wardrobe staple. They spice up any outfit that would otherwise be quite plain and go with absolutely anything.

Blazer: Carven (very old and slightly altered but a brighter blue option here)
T-Shirt: Sandro
Leather Leggings: Joseph (I came across these wallet friendly alternatives)
Pumps: Jimmy Choo (old but they have these lovely pumps in their sale)
Clutch: YSL (old but love this and this one if searching for a black clutch in the sales)
Cuff: Hermes ( probably never in the sale... but in the current sales I love this and this alternative. Also are you familiar with Vestiaire? If not check it out ;-))
Nail Polish: Shellac, Romantica

WHAT I WORE: FEATHERS

I'm absolutely loving our new home and neighbourhood but the one thing I miss form our previous place is our girls' room. Some of you might remember seeing pictures of it before but if not, this is what it looked like. We didn't want to make it too girly and childish so the beige and white striped wallpaper was just perfect and the pictures brought a touch of colour.

This was me trying on some clothes when sorting out my wardrobe for the move. I didn't end up wearing the Biba feather jacket out but I'm intending to again very soon when the right occasion arises. Isn't it cool? And what's even cooler is that I got it as a present from my Mother-In-Law!

Jacket: Biba / Knit: American Vintage / Corduroy Jeans: Isabel Marant / Pumps: Christian Louboutin / Cuff: Hermes / Necklace: H&M / Clutch: YSL

WHAT I WORE: MY FAV KNIT

At the moment I'm loving skinny jeans with a knit and pointed pumps. Add an evening bag and some jewellery and you can wear the combo in the evenings as well as during the day. This Zoe Jordan jumper is my absolute favourite this autumn, wish they had it in more colours as it's the first thing I want to pull out of my wardrobe every day.

Coat: Joseph / Knit: Zoe Jordan / Jeans: J Brand / Shoes: Jimmy Choo (old but love these) / Necklace: H&M / Clutch: YSL

WHAT I WORE: MY LITTLE PIECE OF TARTAN

I don't often go for passing trends but I did fancy a little bit of tartan this autumn and decided that a t-shirt was more "me" than a shirt. I wore this out in the evening but could easily wear during the day at leisure or work as well. Btw I love the necklaces at H&M, when ever I go and have a look I see many that I like.

T-Shirt: Top Shop (Similar here) / Trousers: Reiss / Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (old but similar here) / Necklace: H&M / Bag: Alexander McQueen

AT THE FINNISH AMBASSADOR'S HUMBLE HOUSE

Last night I spent a fun evening at the Ambassador of Finland's beautiful residence, which to be honest, wasn't really that humble... The event was the launch of Nokian by Julia Lundsten collection.

There were boots everywhere. Different colors, shapes and styles. I had no idea that the collection was so vast.

That is Julia herself on the left next to the Ambassador's lovely wife, Liisa. They are both wearing boots from the collection. If only you could see them better in the picture...

I absolutely love the photography in the campaign.

(Talking about photography I have to apologise for the picture quality... I don't like posting grainy, yellow pictures but I wasn't prepared to carry my flash around with me. Hence I decided that some of the pictures were better off as black & white.)

We were served some excellent Finnish goodies such as these tiny round pieces of rye bread with herring and quail's egg.

The dress code was "lounge suit"... Not a dress code I was familiar with so I had to do some googling just to make sure I wasn't going to show up in a casual outfit when everyone else was wearing a ball gown! I found a lot of different descriptions, all of them pretty vague. Like this one:

"Lounge suits are normal business suits, worn for semi-formal occasions with a shirt and tie. The equivalent for women is a skirt or trouser suit, cocktail dress or evening gown depending on the time of day and the occasion."

Hmmm... That doesn't rule out much for us women so I decided to take my chances and show up smart casual.

The Ambassador's house was beautiful inside and out. I'm glad I had the opportunity to visit it.

And here goes my clean eating! I blame Nokian by Julia Lundsten and their goodie bag! I obviously started demolishing the bar already in a taxi on my way home, carried on whilst making my way up to our flat and without as much as taking my shoes off sat myself down in the kitchen to finish off the rest of it. In one go. I think it took me about 20 minutes in total. Oops. But I have to say it was worth every calorie, there's nothing better than Finnish chocolate. Happy Thursday everyone!
