SANDY SATURDAY

Hi guys! I hope you're all enjoying a sunny weekend where ever you are! We had a lovely, fun day with friends yesterday returning to one of the most beautiful Cote D'Azur beaches, the Pampelonne in St Tropez. White sand and turquoise water never fail to look beautiful but there's something about the colours on the French Riviera that make everything look extra special.

We got settled on comfy sunbeds at Club 55.

We checked out what their boutique had to offer. So many beautiful sarongs!

But we ended up buying some buckets and spades instead.

The temperatures are not that high yet so I thought it was a safer option to wear shorts and long sleeves than a beach coverup. It's quite difficult to find nice looking denim shorts that actually cover your bottom properly (and trust me this bottom needs to be covered!) but these Rag & Bone Boyfriend ones are just perfect.

I have a nice week ahead of me as I'm getting two special guests from Finland and one from the UK.

Bye for now, see you soon!

  1. Everything looks so beautiful, the beach and the sea. This makes me long for sunny weather even more. We've had nothing but cold and rain for the whole months of May. And this horrible weather happens right at a time when I'm on maternity leave and have some time to spend with the kids. As luck would have it. Must visit the South of France sometime though.

    1. Hi Juliana! Well today we woke up to grey skies and strong wind... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your weather will change soon so that you can enjoy your maternity leave even more!

  2. Since I'm more into holidays in the Italian countryside, can you explain how this beach club thing works? Can anyone just walk in and pay for a sunbed? Or do you need a referral?
(Before transferring to Europe, we live in the US, where it's all about the country clubs)

    1. The beach club concept was new to my American and Australian friends too! Yes, anyone can walk up and pay for one. Availability during high season is a different matter though... Better always to be there as soon as they open in the morning or call up and book in advance! Good luck with your transfer! :-)

  3. I think this beach Club thing is quite present all over the Riviera (Itslian & French), but since I've been quite Happy at our villa's pool, we have not looked into the beach clubs in Italy. From what I understand, some are private (by application only) and some are public.
We've been in Europe since last year, thnkfully the move is over (plus my kids are not in school yet:-))

    1. I haven't heard of beach clubs that you join around here but I'm sure there are some. Ah well I hope you're enjoying Europe!! :-)

  4. Wow, it really looks nice and warm! I always fancy those nice places but I´m constantly wining about hot weather. We had our first summer day here in Finland and me and my hubs were thinking "Oh my lord... there´s 3 months summer left and this one and first day is killing us" =D Not much of a beach persons in this family :P Every year we try to enjoy more of sunny days and take a few beach days with kids. And every time we end up feeling sick in the evening. Maybe its because us, adults, don´t drink enough?

I was wondering, does your girls wear hats at the beach?

Have a happy summer in France and I´m waiting for the blog posts of your new home and country!

    1. I have to say I don't like it very hot either... I'm the happiest when temperatures stay around mid twenties. You definitely have to drink a lot of water during the day if you're on the beach. Well it's a good thing to do every day! My girls wear hats if we're in the sun for long. Or the older one wears one and the younger one keeps on taking it off :-) Have a great summer too!

    1. Miksei mulla ollut tullut tämä ennen mieleen... Tosi hyvä vinkki, kiitos! :-)
